The Orchard

We took another trip to Utah, just for two days this time.
We went because we hired a photographer, whom I so admire, to take our family photos. The shoot was supposed to coincide with our reunion in Utah a few weeks ago, but it didn't work out. I mention this just to let you know that we don't live to fly around the country. It may not seem like it, but we do try to limit our airtime, especially with three kiddos.

So, our photos were taken here. However, we all will have to wait until the said photographer gets back from a wedding he is photographing in Indonesia to see the pictures he took. Until then, here are some of the pictures I took. It is such a great location, I had to take my turn.

So stay tuned for a link to our family shoot. There may even be a few pictures of me in there ;)
I know. *GASP!*

Let me introduce you to a little company my husband recently started called CardsInk.
CardsInk is a place where designers, artists, or anyone, really, submit designs with the possibility of turning that design into a greeting card. After designs are submitted, visitors to the site rate or vote on the cards. The most popular cards get printed on high-quality paper and are sold to people like you :) Those who have their design chosen to print, will receive $100 and $50 for every reprint. Cool, huh?
If a design is eligible (limited to two tones), it can be made into a letterpress card. I have seen these cards and they are so very nice in color, texture, relief and quality.

We have seen some really fun, interesting and beautiful designs come in. I'd love to see what else is out there *hint implied*.
So, if you still believe in greeting cards in this era of all things cyber, go to CardsInk to submit card designs, vote on them or buy them!

BTW, I should mention...
I know this is a photo blog but no photos are eligible for submission. And in case you are wondering, I did give my husband permission to sell cards even though I sell my own photocards :)

Remembering nature

I saw so many of these over the weekend. I don't know what they are called but when I saw them, I remembered my childhood in Utah. I found it interesting how a simple plant/weed, as well as the previously posted trees, can stir up a stream of memories from a lifetime ago.

It's good to know

Thank you all for your words of encouragement. It's good to know that I inspire others, photographers or not. It makes me happy.

I will continue this blog. I just don't know what direction I am going to take with it.
There are so many things happening in my life right now. It would be difficult to hone in on one aspect and photograph it. I'm all jumbled, especially in my thoughts.

Well, anyway. Life is grand. I love photography. I love hearing from you.

AND I love looking at this doll...

I thought this picture deserved a post here as well.

Again, thanks!
