Today
My due date has come and gone. No use crying about it-- not yet anyway.
I had a few rough days. I couldn't really... move. I haven't done much of anything. My blog is a good indicator of that.
I felt pretty good today so we went to The Cloisters Museum at Fort Tryon Park. I never thought I cared much for Medieval art and/or architecture, but I found it all very interesting at this particular place, on this particular day.

We had an enjoyable time inside, but the images and mood were a stark contrast to what we saw and felt when we got outside.
Could it be Spring?

I heart Ireland

I took this on the Dingle Peninsula on the west coast of Ireland last year. It was a beautiful day. It was Mother's Day.
I want to go back.
I was never one to make a big deal about St. Patrick's Day, but now that I've been to Ireland, I like to remember the time I had there.
So, anyway, Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I realized that my blogging absence may have cause some of you to have false hope in the fact that I may have had my baby.
Soon,
soon...

So close,
Close to finding out whether we will be needing more
PINK
or buying lots of
BLUE.
Any guesses?
This little girl was born just one week ago. My friend was quite certain the baby was going to be a boy.
Surprise!
I can't wait to know!

Remembering - a birth slideshow

It is my nephew's birthday today. Happy first birthday, little guy!
I wish I had a current picture of him, but he lives on the other coast.
I will never forget his actual birth day. I was there, and so was my camera.
Photographing this remarkable event was amazing! I loved it, and I was grateful for the opportunity to do it.
As I think about my own forthcoming experience- hopefully in about 10 days-, I can't help but think of this time I was able to capture. I have seen this slideshow a few times over the last few days, and it almost makes me want to having my third baby's birth photographed- almost. I'm self-conscious enough in front of the camera when I'm at my best. Maybe if I could be guaranteed that I would look as beautiful as my sister-in-law did in labor ;)
To relive the moment that I shared a year ago, watch here.

She knows how to pose
It was so nice to go out on a walk with the family today without bundling up. It was a beautiful day!
Hannah was in model mode. I love it when she finds a spot and says,
"Take a picture of me like this."
"Now take a picture of me like this."
and so on...

She's only four, barely! She makes it look so effortless, as if she was trained for it. I guess in a way, she was. My fault :)
I wish my Jane was so easy. My fastest shutter speed is often not quick enough for that girl. Maybe video is the best medium for her.

or do, for that matter,
until tomorrow...

I wonder...

As much as snow can enhance the aesthetic nature of most things, even the railroad tracks visible from our windows, I can't help but wonder,
when will it end?
