Color blocks

My husband loves 99.9% of my work. Now and then I photograph something that doesn't spark much interest from him. For example, he doesn't share my enthusiasm for these painted walls I found in Seattle's International District. Sometimes, I myself wonder what attracts me to images such as these.
I think my interest stems from the minimalist phase I went through in college while I was taking all of my studio art and art history classes. I loved the simple lines and colors from the minimalists. I even made a queen-size quilt inspired by a Mondrian print. I liked Rothko's color field paintings which is most likely what lead me to photographing these images.

Are they beautiful? Not exactly. Are they thought provoking? Not really. Are they expressive? Barely.
I could spend some time critiquing and analyzing them, but I'm not going to. I'm just going to leave them as I saw them.

Good idea. I mean, leaving them as you saw them, because there's something about them that made you take them. And I get it.

And that's that.

Sometimes all you need is color and shape and texture... I love them, especially the third from the top.
